Requirements

To be a referee in our club, you must:

  • Be 13 years of age or older
  • Participate in training - attend a referee clinic (see below)
  • Pass a certification exam (see below)

We will cover youth league rules and how-to's (for example, how to assign to match assignments, how to be paid for a match, what is a risk management application). Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend this meeting.

Pre-registration and completion of online material is REQUIRED. You can register here

VERY, VERY IMPORTANT: This class has online material that MUST be completed (and this system MUST say ONLINE COMPLETE in green highlight) prior to class. You WILL NOT be admitted to the class if you have not completed the education and the system does not indicate ONLINE COMPLETE. Paper or email proof of completion is not accepted. There are no exceptions. ONLINE MATERIAL MUST BE COMPLETED BY 9:00 PM 8/24/17.

The HARD CUTOFF is two days before the clinic at 8PM to complete the online material. If you are not 100 complete then you will not be allowed to attend the clinic. Should this happen then you can wait for a later clinic or request your funds be reimbursed.

Accessing the Online Material:

After you have registered and paid for your class, log on and look in the Clinic Reservation box for a button labeled Online Lessons. This button will provide access to the online material. Click on that button and complete ALL modules. Completing all material will take a 2-3 hours, so allow time to complete this. This material contains essential information that is part of your referee exam.

IMPORTANT: Read and follow the instructions CAREFULLY. Do not skip ahead in videos. Failure to carefully follow the instructions or skipping portions of videos may result in you not receiving credit for completing the item.

Please be aware that if this New Referee Clinic is held before July 1, it will provide certification through the end of this calendar year. If it is on or after July 1, it will provide certification for the remainder of this calendar year and through next year.

This class consists of both classroom and outdoor instruction on a field at the complex.
1. Bring paper and pencil for notes.
2.Lunch will be provided but if you have any special dietary needs, please bring your own lunch. Lunch time is approximate and there will not be an opportunity to leave and get lunch.
3. Bring shoes appropriate for light work on the soccer field (cleats not required). And dress for the weather.

4:40-6pm is the next steps part of the clinic that parents are invited/encouraged to attend. We cover how to register, self-assign, youth league rules, submit a match report, and payment during this session. It is an overwhelming amount of information presented so we encourage parents to attend this session.

There will be an exam at the end of class which must be passed to earn your license. Pay very close attention to the questions and answers during the online education.

 
Turkey Jamboree Referee Training

FME will have a Turkey Jamboree Referee training session.

Surprise Lake Middle School Cafeteria

Turkey Jamboree is November TBD in Fife, WA. Games will be held from 9:00am until 5:00pm throughout Dacca Park, Columbia Jr High, and Fife High School.

To be assigned games at the FMEJSC Turkey Jamboree you must attend the informational meeting. There will be referee recertification training directly after for those Referee's who's certifications are not current and have completed their online modules.
